Business Talent Visa (Subclass 132)

This type of visa is for business people to establish or develop a business in Australia. It has two streams:

Venture Capital Entrepreneur stream: for people who have sourced venture capital funding from a member of the Australian Venture Capital Association Limited (AVCAL).​

Significant Business History stream: for high-calibre business owners or part-owners who want to do business in Australia

• Applicants must lodge an expression of interest and be nominated by a state or territory government agency and invited to apply by the minister.This requires:
  • net business and personal assets of at least AUD 1.5 million and an annual business turnover of at least AUD 3 million, or
  • at least AUD 1 million in venture capital funding to start the commercialisation and development of a high-value business idea in Australia.
  This is a permanent residence visa but can be applied for from outside Australia.
